Formed in November 2019, BLI Global Capital is an investment management company that focuses on deal sourcing and subsequent smart investment in viable ventures that demonstrate a clear return on equity whilst leaving a positive social impact on the sector in which the project is operating. We are passionate about developmental and growth projects and align ourselves with key stakeholders in relevant economic sectors.
At BLI Global Capital we understand the importance of being entrusted to expand a corporate or personal portfolio. It means paying attention to detail and to the market trends; finding the right opportunity before your competition, and most importantly managing for profitable returns, not just in the short term but for the long haul. MEET OUR TEAM
Robert Horne
Co-Founder/Managing Partner
Robert is based in the USA where his educational background in Accounting and Business Management is coupled with an extensive work history in both the public and private sectors. Having spent many years in Tax Accounting in the Transportation industry and Fund Accounting for a Private Holding Company he has acquired financial and asset management expertise. His business management experience includes the retail, municipal and non-profit sectors.
He has structured and developed a construction business, wine distribution/marketing business, and internet marketing business to include sales and search engine optimization elements. During his non-profit management of an organization that secured and supervised employment of adults with disabilities he also volunteered as a respite provided for families with children with disabilities. Robert is currently involved in Real Estate Development and entrepreneurial enterprises including, creating and co-managing BLI Global Capital’s Portfolio Management Company in the USA. He is actively involved in establishing a non- profit BLI Global office in the US while promoting the SDG’s of the UN Agenda 2030, supporting BLI Global’s activities and efforts throughout Africa to include Nigeria, Bangladesh, Kenya, Uganda and Nepal.
Maria Horne
Co-Founder/Managing Partner
Maria Horne is a young vibrant change agent who started Blue Luxury Investments (now BLI Global Capital) at the age of 24. Since then she has been able to work with local businesses in sub-Saharan African and south Asia to increase access to finance, improve livelihoods, impacting over 30,000 lives and continues to promote the achievement of the sustainable development goals.
Previously she worked with Interface Consulting Limited as a projects officer providing support on development projects funded by SNV, IRC, UNICEF, Total E&P and Ministry of Water and Environment (Uganda).
Maria has been involved in policy, lobbying and advocacy for social change and impact, participating in high impact international sessions like the United Nations (UNFCCC, HLPF, ECOSOC, UNEA), and regional African sessions including the ACET Africa Transformation Forum inaugural event. She is a Salzburg Global Fellow and passionate about the environment and conserving nature. She is also a member of the IUCN Commission on Education and Communication. She is key in networking with investors globally and has worked to finance projects and investments in East Africa, West Africa and South Africa.
